Donauturm

How to get there: a 5-minute walk from Hotel Appartements Riemergasse to the Stephansplatz, then take a 9-minute ride on the U 1 underground line to the Alte Donau station, transferring to bus No.  20 B for a 3-minute ride to Arbeiterstrandbadstraße, followed by another brief 5-minute walk.

The Donauturm ("Danube Tower"), designed by architect Hannes Linntl, reaches a total height of 252 metres. The viewing terraces are located at 150 metres and 155 metres above ground, reachable either by express elevators or 776 stairs. Visitors can walk all the way around the terrace, enjoying fantastic views of the city of Vienna. In the event of inclement weather, there is a two-storey glassed-in inner section, which also runs the complete circumference of the tower.
