KunstHaus Wien
How to get there: from Hotel Appartements Riemergasse, ride tram No. 1 or 2 to Julius Raab Platz (6 minutes) then walk to the Untere Weißgerberlände 13 in 12 minutes.
The KunstHausWien, which opened on April 9, 1991, was planned by no less than Friedensreich Hundertwasser himself. You can get there on foot in just 20 minutes, or take tram 1 or 2 to this impressively designed house clad in bright, striking colors.
Today's KunstHausWien at Untere Weißgerberlände 13 in Vienna's 3rd District was originally the Thonet furniture factory which dated back to 1892. Friedensreich Hundertwasser planned the museum, while the BAWAG Bank had the KunstHaus constructed. Here at the KunstHaus Wien, you will be able to view the only permanent exhibition of Hundertwasser works world-wide.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the 3rd and 4th floors also serve as the venues for rotating special exhibitions.
